Class Descriptions

  • Enjoy time with your baby as you dance to classical ballet music while sitting on the floor with them or baby-wearing. This is designed for babies of all stages. Mommy’s (or daddy’s) are welcome to move along with their babies as they snuggle, crawl, walk, and twirl to beautiful music. We introduce rhythm and coordination skills while giving parents a chance to dive into that special time with their young one. (Older siblings may observe from the benches as long as there are not significant class interruptions).

  • This class is specifically designed for the youngest dancer! An introduction to ballet music and rhythm is a fun way to enjoy the art of dance! Children will also be taught basic tumbling skills along with stretching and working on balance and strength.

  • Twinkle Toes is our very first introduction to ballet for the youngest dancer. These ballerinas will learn the foundational steps for ballet lessons through imaginative dance and games. This class is ideal for the first time dancer and it’s goal is to instill the love of dance in the young child’s heart.

  • This class is specifically designed for the youngest dancer! An introduction to upbeat music and rhythm is a fun way to enjoy the art of dance! Children will also be taught basic tumbling skills along with stretching and working on balance and strength. This class is geared towards the dancer who might want a foundation for a hip-hop class at an older age.

  • Tiny tots classes are designed to introduce young children to ballet and tap. By giving them a chance to try both dance forms and learn some basic skills at a young age, they will have fun interacting with friends and enjoying the creative movement of dance while they learn the basic structure of rhythm. ** These are 12 week programs with in-studio Christmas and spring recitals).

  • The young dancer needs a foundation in creative movement before entering a structured ballet program. Pre-ballet gives children the building blocks to create a foundation for Ballet 1. By using their imaginations, dancers learn vital skills for their dance education through games and songs while being able to dance and move creatively. This class is meant for the 4 year old who has previous experience with ballet class.

  • Tap is a foundational dance style for jazz in that it teaches rhythm and dance movement in a parallel position. This fun class introduces the young dancer to Broadway music, swing music, and Disney tunes as they step and clap along with the beat.

  • Lyrical is a foundation class for contemporary dance. This class utilizes ballet and contemporary movement and teaches young dancers to move to music and express emotion through dance.

  • Contemporary dance blends technique from jazz, ballet and lyrical styles. It’s a fluid form of dance that connects the expressiveness of movement with the body. Dancers will take their previous dance training to a more advanced level when taking contemporary. Must take at least one ballet class a week to be eligible for contemporary.

  • Dancers will be introduced to appropriate steps and skills based on their age and experience level. Our curriculum combines Cecchetti method with some of the ABT teacher curriculum along with other schools and anatomical science and understanding to nurture and grow the young dancer. Each teacher adheres to a syllabus so that students are prepared for the next level of ballet when they reach the appropriate age. We train dancers with injury prevention in mind as well as supplement classes with strengthening and stretching techniques that are safe for growing and developing bodies. Our technique and method prepares the young dancer with a proper foundation for pre-professional dancing and training as well as recreational enjoyment. Pointe is by invitation only and can be offered at ages 11 and older, depending on the growth plates and doctor’s written permission. Pointe will not be performed on stage until a dancer has had adequate training and can confidently dance in center for up to 30 minutes without issue. This is for their safety and longevity of their career.
